I’m looking to replace windows but my challenge is aesthetics with the redwood siding. Should we try to match the redwood or go black?

Has anyone refinished a midcentury doorknob backplate? If so how, and are they copper? This is two blocks from beach so given it’s age I think it has held up well.

We recently bought a mid century home with this gorgeous great room. Need to spruce up the hearth and mantle but am at a loss for what to do in front of the window. Any ideas?
