Help me find a cool room divider!

Looking for suggestions for our entryway. We’re still in the process of renovating. The second owners removed what was originally there. I want some kind of room divider between the entry and dining table without closing it in too much. This room flows directly to the living area with a large window overlooking the golf course. I want to keep the open feel. I would love your thoughts?

  • “Consider furniture pieces with open shelves accessible from either side. A long antique Chinese altar table in a color or the natural wood color would accent the room.”
  • “Half height planters?
  • “Check etsy. Lots of people will make custom stuff!”
  • “Personally, my aesthetic taste thinks the entry space is calling out for a rectangular mass whose width and length dimensions match those of the light fixture built-into the ceiling. I’d want the height to be no less than (although it could be much taller than) the vertical extent of the ceiling fixture above. Since the flooring now runs continuously through the entry area, I could even see an MCM credenza with short tapered legs placed directly underneath the light. With some such rectangular mass under the light as foundation, you could then explore an MCM room-divider screen or modern shelving unit to link the base unit to the ceiling unit by occupying the space between in some visually interesting (and ideally, not completely solid / opaque) way.”
  • “Have you consider free standing Cado wall unit?”
  • “Area rugs will also help you visually divide up the space.”
