Mid Century Home Rewind 2011: Alvar Aalto

So here we are, the end of the year is time to recap and look back to see what we have done and achieved; in the Mid Century Home case a lot has been done 🙂

One of the architects that I wrote more about is undoubtedly Alvar Aalto.

He has been one of the North European masters of the mid-century, Alvar Aalto designed some of the most significant and inspirational houses and objects of the twentieth century.

During 2011 I wrote about the most significant and remarkable houses designed by Aalto during his career:

The Alvar Aalto House and Office (an updated version will go live next week, stay tuned!)

The Alvar Aalto Villa Mairea

The Alvar Aalto Villa Kokkonen

The Alvar Aalto Villa Skeppet-Schildt

Alvar Alto was famous for his organic furniture, the use of natural materials, the attention to details and to the needs of his clients; he designed more  than just buildings and interiors, he made dreams come true!

If you missed one or more of those houses check them now, otherwise you can read them again in a row; you’ll have a wider view on Aalto’s architectural ideals and works.

Tomorrow I will post another Mid Century Home Rewind 2011, don’t miss it!

I hope you will enjoy the reading and don’t forget to let me know which is your favorite house -and why- in the comments below.
