Timeless yet adaptable, mid-century design continues to resonate today, for the way it prioritizes comfort, flow, and natural light. Even in compact urban apartments, elements like streamlined storage, warm wood tones, and curated pops of color can evoke that unmistakable cozy-modern atmosphere.Â
It’s about reinterpreting its spirit to suit everyday life. This sense of ease and purpose runs through a recently completed Warsaw apartment, where a thoughtful redesign reflects both the residents’ needs and a fondness for mood-lifting color.
This 60-square-metre Warsaw apartment was designed for everyday life, with comfort and positivity at its core. Led by Karina Roman of Studio P/art, the project centered around a collaborative design process that reflected the lifestyle and personality of the future residents.
From their very first conversation, the homeowners expressed their love of color, especially yellow. That detail became a guiding light for the design, inspiring sunny accents that now radiate warmth and energy throughout the space. These details create an inviting, joyful atmosphere that feels tailored and lived-in.

Roman approached the project with a careful ear and a practical mindset. Early discussions revealed two key needs: relocating the washing machine from the bathroom into the living area, and creating additional storage in the form of a built-in cupboard. Meeting these challenges required more than a quick fix; it called for reimagining the layout to support everyday life without compromising style.
Several layout options were presented to the clients, allowing them to weigh their choices before settling on a solution that struck the right balance. The final plan brought cohesion and flow to the entire apartment. Every decision served a dual purpose, enhancing both the form and the function of the home.
