About The Product
Ardea CM by Zanotta is a bergère armchair created for conversation, a tribute to the one designed by Mollino in 1946 for Minola House.
The backrest is folded inwards, so as to create a headrest with “ears”, in which to find a more peaceful and cozy ambience. The back has been made even more comfortable and fully supports the body.
About The Designer
Carlo Mollino’s design ethos was centred around animal-inspired forms and anatomi- cal silhouettes whose curves created arabesques and sinuous lines reminiscent of ski tracks and the trails left by acrobatic planes in the sky.
Mollino adopted a complex design style, incorporating both abstract and surrealist ele- ments at the same time. His work drew on a varied raft of experiences and micro- worlds, making these his own.

Why We Like It
Carlo Mollino‘s work is one of a kind. The designs of the Turin based architect aimed to replicate organic shapes and silhouettes through a rigorous application of manufacturing technics.
The Ardea CM armchair is a homage to Mollino’s vision and a perfectly executed piece of design. A modern classic for everyday use.
