In 2014 the eclectic furniture designer Jamie Hayon re-imagined one of the rooms ofย the first ever design hotel in history: theย Royal Hotel in Copenhagen,ย designed by Arne Jacobsen.

The remodelling was made in collaboration with the Danishย brand Fritz Hansen(whichย manufactures most of Hayonโ€™s iconic pieces) toย celebrateย Jacobsenโ€™s Drop Chairย 50th birthday. The chair was part of the interiors that Jacobsen designed forย the(SAS Royal) hotel and was recently re-issued by Fritz Hansen.

The room 506 is theย perfect showroom for Hayonโ€™s most recent furniture inspired byย modernist Europeanย designersย of the 50s and 60s.
The most known -and still preserved with original furniture and fittings- room ofย the hotel is the 606 that Jacobsen entirely custom designed .
