Jamie Hayon homage to the Iconic Jacobsen Hotel in Copenhagen.

In 2014 the eclectic furniture designer Jamie Hayon re-imagined one of the rooms of the first ever design hotel in history: the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, designed by Arne Jacobsen.

The remodelling was made in collaboration with the Danish brand Fritz Hansen(which manufactures most of Hayon’s iconic pieces) to celebrate Jacobsen’s Drop Chair 50th birthday. The chair was part of the interiors that Jacobsen designed for the(SAS Royal) hotel and was recently re-issued by Fritz Hansen.

The room 506 is the perfect showroom for Hayon’s most recent furniture inspired by modernist European designers of the 50s and 60s.
The most known -and still preserved with original furniture and fittings- room of the hotel is the 606 that Jacobsen entirely custom designed .
